This application shows
bus stops, bus timetables, bus e.t.a.'s and bus routes in the
Christchurch and Timaru area from Christchurch's Metro Bus systems.
To
find a bus's stop, e.t.a.'s or bus stops timetable information, the
user either enters a street / shop in the search box or zooms in to a
particular location.
Once zoomed in, bus
stops appear as blue bus icons and the coloured lines represent the
bus routes on map.
Also on the left hand side all the bus stops in
the present extent are shown on the menu.
The user can click on the
bus stop either on the map or from the left hand menu to see when
their next bus is expected (updated every 5 sec's - e.t.a's are in minutes only), or lookup it's
timetable.
You can even see the bus stop in Google's Streetview so
you can familiarise yourself before going to the bus stop.
If this bus stop is somewhere you regularly frequent then there is a facility
to add this to your favourites. The next time you visit the
application on the same computer the application will zoom to this
bus stop and open the bus stop dialog for you. You can have more than
one favourite, but only the first is used to zoom in.
On the right hand side
the the user can click on a selected bus routes. This will zoom
out/in to the extent of the bus route so the user can understand the
route the bus goes. From here you can also open directly the bus
routes timetable (as-posed to the bus stops timetable mentioned
earlier).
Lastly you can share
the application via social media buttons at the bottom of the page.
